Learners were treated to beautiful renditions of gospel songs by a visiting Texas university choir group who are currently hosted by Norwegian church. These young men and women were then entertained by one English and Zulu song from the school’s choir group. They were equally impressed.
The gravel road at the entrance of the school has been graded finally.
Fifteen prefects were presented with their certificates and ties at a special assembly on Friday 14 May. They will receive their badges soon.
Parents were invited to school on Saturday 19 May for the purpose of selecting members for a parent association. There was a good turnout of parents. Five parents have been selected to serve in the association. They are Ms Patrick Maphumulo, Mr Bongiwe Cele, Ms Yandisa Mpofana, Mr E.Z Chiliza, Sipho Cele and Mr Thulani Magxala.
Mr Bruce Dickson, a member of the Trust, explained the constitution, role and functions of the association.
Eva Chetty from Standard Bank addressed parents on the different methods of paying school fees. She explained the advantages of “a debit order”. Parents were informed that the school now has a swiping machine.
The girls under 12 Volleyball team took part in the second tournament on Saturday 19 May. The team played very well and reached the semi-finals. They lost to Jai Hind Primary. Congratulations to Marburg Primary for winning the tournament.
