Last Friday, 08 September 2023, our Grade 7 learners hosted their Annual Market
Day. As part of their Economic Management Sciences curriculum, learners were
tasked to display their entrepreneurial skills by selling different products for a profit.
The learners and their E.M.S. teacher Miss Thobile Hlophe with the help of the
principal put in many hours of preparation for the day. A host of stalls selling different
goods and services made for an enjoyable day. Goods on the market included
chicken wrap, chicken burger, boerewors roll, chicken hearts, ice cream and so on.
Services on the other hand included car wash, games, make up and a nail salon.
There were also novelty items such as a scary room, modelling and many
competitions.
Grade 7 learners learnt a lot about entrepreneurship, marketing, profit and loss. This
will help those who want to be future entrepreneurs.
The principal Miss Karen Marx and Miss Thobile Hlophe thank the staff, learners and
parents who assisted towards the success of this day and congratulate the Grade 7s
on their ideas and selling strategies.
Mrs Anna Sabotinni from Roots and Shoots, donated a tree to the school which was
planted for Arbour day. Our Eco club learnt about the tree and all played a small role
in planting the tree. Thank you for the tree and we look forward to enjoying the
shade it will provide in year to come.
