Hlanganani Preparatory school recently celebrated Heritage Day as the school will
be closed on 24 September 2023. Heritage Day encourages all South Africans to
celebrate and honour the diversity of their cultures and traditions in the wider context
of a nation that belongs to all its people.
It was a day full of fun and activities for learners and teachers who were dressed in
traditional attire. The various coloured outfits, beaded accessories and painted faces
thrilled the assembly. Everyone enjoyed different traditional items, such as praise
poetry, amahubo, gum-boot dance, Zulu, Indian, Sotho and Tshwana dance.
Learners also enjoyed listening and singing along to cultural songs.
All parents are invited to school to fetch report cards on Thursday and Friday, 21 &
22 September 2023 between 08:00 -11:00. School closes this Friday (22nd) at 10:30
and opens on 10 October 2023. We wish our Hlanganani family a very happy and
safe holiday.
