Hlanganani Preparatory School’s Grade 7 learners hosted their Annual Market
Day on the 5th of September 2025. The market day is part of their Economic Management
Sciences assessment. Learners were tasked to display their entrepreneurial skills by
selling different products for a profit. Miss Thobile Hlophe with the help of the principal put
in many hours of preparation assisting the learners to advertise and to buy products.
A host of stalls selling different goods and services made for an enjoyable day. Goods on
the market included burgers, boerewors roll, hotdogs, Kwota Russian, ice cream and so
on.
Services on the other hand included car wash, games, face painting, make up, and a nail
salon. There were also novelty items such as a scary room, dancing and many
competitions. Not only was the day fun and profitable for the learners, but it was also filled
with valuable life lessons. The learners learnt a lot about entrepreneurship, marketing,
profit and loss. This will help those who want to be future entrepreneurs.
The principal Miss Karen Marx and Miss Thobile Hlophe thank the staff, learners and
parents who assisted towards the success of this day.
Well done to the Grade 7 learners for their hard work and enthusiasm, they truly made the
day unforgettable!
