HLANGANANI SCHOOL NEWS FOR 21 FEBRUARY 2019


The safe house that was set up last year outside the school premises has eventually begun to operate on 15 February. It will be manned by a security officer and a social worker. It will be accessible from 6pm on Friday to 6am on Saturday. Similar operating times for Saturday and Sunday evening as well. Anyone who feels he/she in danger can access the safe house. The safe house works in liaison with the police and ambulance services.

The school held a short Valentine’s Day programme on 15 February. Main events were a modelling show and a dancing competition. The raffle for a hamper of Valentine goodies was won by Samkelisiwe Hlophe. Amahle Mpofana won the second prize.

Three teams participated in the first volleyball tournament on Saturday 16 February at Marburg Sport Grounds. The U14 and U12 girls’ teams reached the finals. Both teams played exceptionally well and were first runners up. Well done, girls.

Valentine goodies was won by Hlophe Samkelisiwe and Mpofana Amahle won a second price. In the middle principal Mrs E Galanakis.
