HLANGANANI SCHOOL NEWS FOR 14 FEBRUARY 2019

Hlanganani prefects enjoyed two days on 7 and 8th February at Skogheim for leadership skills development. The training included the communication, teamwork, decision making and putting their creativity to the test.

They worked hard as some of the activities were really challenging and probably served as an eye – opener as to what it means to be a leader. It also gave them the opportunities to realise their own strengths and to work on their weaknesses. They really left with more confidence and new skills as leaders to take back to Hlanganani. The school is proud of them as the feedback from the Skogheim facilitators were very positive. The learners were accompanied by Mrs Estelle Alberts.

All grades from grade 1 to grade 7 wrote their Table – thon tests on Monday 11 February. The test covered time – tables. It is also a fund – raising project and exciting prizes to be won, the best of which is a Raleigh bicycle Sponsored by Build it.

Volleyball practice is proceeding in earnest. Coach Mrs Precious Cele, is entering three teams for the first tournament this year. The teams are girls U12 boys U14, girls U14. The school wishes them well. Plans are in place to get the Safe House adjoining the School premises into operation. The ‘D’ date is set for this Friday 15 February.
