School News 24 April 2023

Hlanganani Preparatory School and The Roots & Shoots programme, founded by Dr.
Jane Goodall, which is a global movement of passionate youth, focuses on bringing
youth together from across the planet to work together and create the change the
world needs for our environment, animals and people.

Hlanganani Preparatory School has taken steps to help learners prioritise healthy
foods. The school will work with learners and the volunteers from Roots and Shoots
to start a functional vegetable garden. And to teach learners about the environment.
A plot of land was recently made available in the school yard, where crops will be
grown. The learners and volunteers recently started working on their vegetable
garden.

The aim is to plant amadumbe, sweet potatoes, onions, cabagge, spinach, tomatoes
and potatoes.
The learners will be monitoring the growth and maintain the garden.
We enjoyed our Fun Friday last week with plenty of sun glasses and silly glasses
helping us to look to our future.

A reminder that we have a long weekend this weekend and look forward to seeing
everyone again next Tuesday. Enjoy Freedom Day and Workers’ Day with your
families and friends.

The school photos will be taken on the 3rd of May 2023. A reminder that the school
is open for registration for 2024.
