Prizes for the Table – thon competition were presented at the whole school assembly on 8 March. The grand prize of the Raleigh bicycle was won by Lehlohonolo Ngozi from grade 4A He raised the highest amount of R1470 in the school. A representative from Build it, Mr Chief Ndlovu was available to present the bicycle. Build it sponsored the Raleigh. There was a draw for the tablet. Learners who had total marks for the table test qualified for the draw. Slindokuhle Ngcobo from grade 7 won the tablet. Three stationery hampers were won by Bayanda Mbili from grade 3, Nokukhanya Ngcobo from Grade 5 and Nhlanzeko Gumede from 7. Well done to these learners.
The first parents’ day was held at school on Saturday 9 March. It commenced at 9 am with the AGM. The Principal’s address was followed by an explanation of the budget by Mr Bruce Dickson, a member of the trust. Mr Phumza Nyawuza, the chairperson, of the trust led the parents in the selection of a parent Association. The members of the Parent Association are Ayanda Ndzibomvu, Nonjabulo Ndlovu, Mumsie Yalo, Bongani Shezi, Xoliswa Mbhele, Mthokozisi Zulu and Pinkie Gumede. The parents were entertained with songs and dances by grade 7 and 5 learners. Parents then visited classes.
