Hlanganani School News | 09 MARCH 2026

Hlanganani Preparatory School is making learners more aware of healthy foods by giving
the Environmental club the opportunity to plant their own vegetables. They are starting a
functional vegetable garden which will also make them more aware of their environment.

A plot of land was recently made available in the school yard, where crops are to be
grown. They have started working on their vegetable garden where they have planted
amadumbe, sweet potatoes, onions, cabbage, spinach, tomatoes and potatoes.

The learners will be monitoring the growth of the plants and maintaining the garden by
weeding, watering and caring for the plants. We cannot wait to see their homegrown
vegetables.

Our Grade R’s have been grocery shopping and learning about healthy food while our
Grade 8’s are busy learning for their assessments.
Our learners are busy with assessments and Parents are urged to please encourage and
support their child as they study and prepare for each assessment
