Hlanganani is grateful to Constable Sakhile Nzama of SAPS and Thuthuzela Care Centre
for attending our assembly to speak to our learners about drugs, respect
and crime.
Learners were informed about the types, effects and the effect on lifestyle of drugs. They
were further spoken to about “stranger danger” and how to stay safe.
The benefits of a healthy crime-free lifestyle convince the learners not to dabble in any
anti-social or illegal behaviour.
Thuthuzela explained to the learners that the aim is to reduce secondary victimisation of
rape victims, and improve the conviction rate.
Their integrated approach to rape care is one of respect, comfort, restoring dignity and
ensuring justice for children, women and men who are victims of sexual violence. When
reporting, the rape victim is removed from crowds and intimidating environments, to a
victim-friendly environment. The survivor receives comfort and crisis counselling from a
trained Counsellor. The learners must report any form of rape to them and they will get
help.
A big thanks to them for coming to our school.
Last Friday was Crazy Sunglasses Day for Hlanganani. Everyone enjoyed wearing their
sunglasses to school.
Our cricket team attended a KFC Mini Cricket Festival at Suid-Natal on the 12th
Àpril 2025.They showed great teamwork and dedication, winning most of their matches.
Thanks to Suid-Natal High School and Ben Malamba of Cricket Development for hosting
such an amazing festival.
